"Be still and know that I am God." The other side has a cross and reads "Protect Me." The dog-tag charm measures approximately 1.2 inches x .56 inch.
“Be still” is a common verse but has so much more meaning. This psalm is about security with God, that God is our true home. Many people tend to think this verse means to rest or relax in who God is. This verse does encourage us to reflect on who God is, but there is more to it. These words, “be still,” come from the Hebrew term raphah. This word is found in various forms in the Old Testament, with different shades of meaning. It can mean relax, back off or let go. Yes, we should be still and quiet our heart and be with God, but the command should read more like: ‘snap out of it,’ ‘wake up,’ ‘stop fearing’—acknowledge who your God is—be in awe!
